Structural Rhinoplasty

What is Structural Rhinoplasty?

Structural Rhinoplasty is one of the most advanced rhinoplasty techniques available today. This method involves comprehensive surgical refinement across multiple nasal areas to restructure the entire nose shape. By skillfully combining artificial implants and autologous cartilage, surgeons can elevate the nasal bridge, support the columella, reconstruct the nasal tip, and correct nearly all nasal imperfections, especially enhancing and lengthening the tip for highly effective and long-lasting results.

Discover the Structural Rhinoplasty Technique

The procedure begins with the surgeon harvesting autologous cartilage from either the ear or the rib, depending on each client’s condition. Next, internal dissection is performed inside the nasal cavity to build the nasal columella and sculpt the nasal tip using the harvested cartilage. Finally, a custom-shaped implant is placed along the nasal bridge to complete the refined contour before the incision is closed.

Types of Autologous Cartilage Used in Structural Rhinoplasty:

  • Ear Cartilage: Harvested from the auricle, used for building the nasal columella and shaping the nasal tip.
  • Rib Cartilage: A firm and durable material taken from the 6th or 7th rib, ideal for revision cases, trauma-related deformities, or congenital nasal defects.

Who Is Suitable for Structural Rhinoplasty?

Structural Rhinoplasty

Clients with a low, short, or upturned nose

This method not only enhances nasal height and definition but also extends the nasal tip, effectively correcting short or upturned noses to create a balanced and harmonious profile.

Structural Rhinoplasty

Clients with a wide nasal tip or flared alar base

Structural rhinoplasty uses autologous cartilage to reinforce the nasal framework and refine the tip, improving conditions such as a bulbous tip or wide alar base for a more delicate and proportional result.

Structural Rhinoplasty

Those seeking revision of a previous rhinoplasty

With advanced reconstruction techniques, this procedure effectively corrects damaged or previously failed noses, whether caused by prior surgeries, trauma, or congenital deformities by rebuilding the nasal structure and restoring aesthetic balance.

Choosing the Right Nasal Implant for Structural Rhinoplasty

Structural Rhinoplasty

Silicone Nasal Implant

  • Recognized as the first complete implant material for rhinoplasty – and still widely used today.
  • Suitable for clients with minimal nasal imperfections and moderately thick skin.
  •  Ideal for achieving a high, defined, Western-style nose shape.
  • Offers an affordable, cost-effective option.
Structural Rhinoplasty

Surgiform (ePTFE) Nasal Implant

  • Made from 100% biocompatible ePTFE, Surgiform is a premium implant material certified by the U.S. FDA.
  • Overcomes the limitations of silicone by reducing swelling and bruising while allowing faster stabilization.
  • Best suited for elegant, naturally contoured S-line noses with moderate height.
  • Comes at a higher cost compared to silicone implants.

Structural Rhinoplasty Procedure at AZ NOSE

Clients begin with a one-on-one consultation with the surgeon to thoroughly assess their current nose condition and determine the most suitable structural rhinoplasty plan. Before surgery, a comprehensive health check is performed to ensure maximum safety.

During the procedure, the surgeon carefully reconstructs and refines the nasal framework, allowing the client to preview the new nose shape before closing the incision and placing a nasal splint to stabilize and protect the newly shaped structure. Finally, all clients receive post-operative care following strict medical standards, minimizing the risk of complications and ensuring a smooth, safe recovery.
